Jane (Argiro) Torname, of Stoneham, died Saturday, in the Winchester Hospital.
She was 83.
Mrs. Torname was born and raised in Boston’s North End, the daughter of the late Marie (Gulla) and Nicholas Argiro. Jane was a Somerville resident for 35 years, later moving to Stoneham where she lived for the past 7 years. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to spending time with her family, she also enjoyed following the Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox.
She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Torname. Devoted mother of Janet Butts and her husband John of Plymouth, Louis Torname and his wife Nancy of Tewksbury, Michael Torname of Somerville, Marybeth Caturello and her husband Dominick of Stoneham. Loving grandmother of Dina, Janet, Michael, Joseph, Justin, Domenic and the late John Butts. Loving great-grandmother of John and Colin. Dear sister of Theresa Palermo, Katherine Strazzula, Vicki DeLuca, Joseph Argiro and the late Marion Gingola.
Funeral from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
