John Vieira Anselmo, age 86 of Somerset. Husband of Blanche Eva (St.Laurent) Anselmo & son of the late Manuel Vieira Anselmo and Guilhermina L. (Carreira) Anselmo. Passed away November 1, 2008. Born in Fall River, he was a member of St. Louis De France Church. He was an avid Bowler and Golfer and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II where he received the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. Before retiring in 1987, he was Owner of Nancy Dress for over 30 years.
Besides his wife of Somerset, he is survived by 2 children: John V. Anselmo of Warner Robins, GA and Priscilla Robinson of Marathon, NY; 1 sister: Lorraine Machado of Fall River; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren & many nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Blanche Eva Goin of Covington, LA and brother of the late Manuel V., Antone V. and Joseph Anselmo.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. WEDNESDAY at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Louis De France Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours TUESDAY 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.
