Carol A. (Froughton) O’Connor 73, of Franklin , died peacefully at home Sunday October 26, 2008. She was the wife of Joseph R. O’Connor for more than 55 years.
Born in Boston, January 25, 1935 a daughter of the late James and Monica (Manning) Froughton, she was raised and educated in Boston, and had lived in Brockton for many years before moving to Franklin in 1994.
Until her retirement in 1999, Mrs. O’Connor worked for over 20 years as an adjudicator in the passport office for the United States Government.
Her interests and hobbies were Family first, camping, reading, cooking, travel and vacationing. She was also a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Franklin.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Richard C. O’Connor of Brockton, Paul J. O’Connor of Franklin, two sisters Dorothea Short of Bellingham, Doris Fennell of Roslindale, two grandsons Joseph O’Connor of Lakeville, Jason O’Connor of Hopedale and 10 great grandchildren. She is also the sister of the late Bernice Froughton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday October 30, 2008 at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq., Franklin at 9 AM. Interment is private.
