Lunenburg

Andrew C. Jencks, 91, of Lunenburg, died peacefully Monday, October 13,
2008, at Leominster Hospital. Andrew was born in Warwick, RI, on
July 14, 1917, the son of Frederick A. and Florence (Morrarty) Jencks.
He graduated from Warwick High School in 1936.
Following graduation, he worked as a carpenter for a number of years in
the construction field. He spent about 20 years working as a finish
carpenter at Angel Novelty Company in Fitchburg before moving with his
family to Stoneham, MA. There he worked at the New England Memorial
Hospital doing carpentry, locksmith work, and security work until his
retirement in 1982. He and his wife, Virginia, then moved to Lunenburg
where they have been living for 25 years.
Andrew loved to travel with his wife and visited many places including
Hawaii, California, Canada, and Washington State, where he witnessed the <
/PRE>eruption of Mt. St. Helens. He was a member of the Fitchburg Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years.Andrew just lost his 90-year-old wife, Virginia, of 63 years, on August 8, 2008. He now leaves his son and daughter-in-law Frederick A. Jencks and Catherine of Marietta, GA; his daughters Judith A. Twing of Duluth, GA, Linda L. Johnson of Billerica, MA, and Andrea R. Tymeson and her husband, William, of Richmond, NH; his son-in-law Clayton H. Whitney, of Fitchburg; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. All of his siblings, one brother and three sisters, predeceased him.Calling hours at the Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St., Fitchburg, MA, will be held on Thursday, October 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral <
