Mather of Wareham formerly of Brockton April 14, 2003, Louis G. Mather 66 years. Husband of the late Norma A. (Churchill) Mather. Loving father of Stephen of Taunton, Barbara Tonelli of Mattapoisett, Louis G., Jr. of Tacoma, WA, Peter of San Francisco, Kenneth of Taunton and Paul of Brighton. Survived by ten grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Brother of George and Ronald both of So. Easton; Richard of Norton and the late Beverly Meier. Companion of Robin Serpa of Wareham.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8:30 am. Funeral Blessing in St. Patrick Church 82 High St., Wareham at 10 am. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 pm.

Obituary

Mr. Mather died unexpectedly Monday evening at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was born in Brockton son of the late Louis and Barbara (Sessine) Mather and remained a resident until moving to Wareham 11 years ago. He was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1954.Following high school graduation he entered the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.He attended barber school and owned several shops, Louie’s Barber Shops on North and South Main Street in Brockton and the Wareham Barber Shop.He loved to golf and fish and enjoyed watching deer.Mr. Mather was a great supporter of his grandchildren’s activities.He had been a member of the Elks Club in WarehamWhen living in Brockton he was a communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church and attended St. Patrick Church in Wareham.

He is survived by his daughter and five sons as above, 3 brothers, 10 grandchildren, a great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Also a companion as above

He was the husband of the late Norma A. (Churchill) Mather and brother of the late Beverly Meier.
