Lena (DiCola) Valente passed away on October 17, 2008. She was 82 years old.
Born in Italy, Lena was a resident of Malden for over 50 years. She had been a resident of North Reading for 26 years.
Lena was the devoted wife of the late Armando Valente. She was the beloved mother of Linda Traino and her husband Armand of North Reading, Patricia Sasso of Lynn and Paul Valente and his wife Michelle of Salem, NH. Lena was the dear sister of Mary Gamby and her husband John of Malden and the late John DiCola, Jean Buonomo and Carmen DiCola and the sister-in-law of Helena Valente of Hamilton. She was the cherished grandmother of Jennifer D’Ambrosio, Jason Traino, Armanda Sasso, Paul Jr., Eric and Kristen Valente and the great-grandmother of Jayden D’Ambrosio. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday, October 21st at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday, October 20th from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
