FOWLER, Catherine F. (Duggan)- In Gloucester, formerly of Saugus and Malden on October 16th. Devoted wife of the late Edward C. Fowler. beloved mother of Edward A. Fowler and his wife Josephine of New London, New Hampshire, Richard W. Fowler and his wife Joyce of Gloucester, Thomas J. Fowler and his wife Rosemarie of Melrose and the late Daniel D. Fowler. Mother-in-law of Olga Fowler-Clough of Salem. Dear sister of Rita Julia Fielding and Theresa Colburn-Flynn both of Malden as well as many deceased brothers and sisters. Also lovingly survived by 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Wednesday morning, October 22nd at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Forestdale Cemetery, Malden. Born in Boston and a longtime Malden resident until moving to Saugus 20 years ago, Catherine at 89 years of age, passed away at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehab Center in Gloucester where she had been a receiving supportive care over the last few months.
Though mostly a homemaker, taking care of her children and husband, Edward, she found time to work jobs which included Schrafts Candy and for the City of Malden School Lunch program. A communicant at both St. Joseph's in Malden and Blessed Sacrament in Saugus, even with her family and small jobs, she still found time to be a foster mother as well as being active volunteering in many of the local political races.
