Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Marion Foster, 78, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Lakeview House Nursing Home in Haverhill.
Born in Gloucester on March 31, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Frederick R. and Gladys E. (Woodbury) Foster. Marion was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School class of 1947.
Marion had worked as a window decorator and in the shoe department of the former Brown’s Department Store. She also once worked along with her sisters at the family owned Foster’s Drug Store in Lanesville. Marion was an amateur artist and enjoyed embroidery and playing the piano. She also enjoyed her trips to Cape Cod to visit with her sister and vacationing at Merry Meeting Lake in New Hampshire.
She is survived by two sisters, Janet Foster of Gloucester and Elizabeth D. Cash of Cape Cod, two nieces, Susan Foster Lumbruno and her husband, Bill Lumbruno of Gloucester and Linda Cash of Cape Cod, a nephew, Wayne and his wife, Dorie Cash of New Hampshire and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be privately held in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Lanesville. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Beacon Hospice, 350 Main St., Haverhill, MA 01830 or to the Lakeview House, 87 Shattuck St., Haverhill, MA 01830.
