Tiago J. Tavares, 65, of Hudson, died Friday, Oct. 10 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He leaves his beloved wife of 44 years, Maria (Chaves) Tavares of Hudson.
He was born in Santa Maria, the Azores, son of the late Jose Freitas and Maria Chaves (Figueiredo) Resendes. He was employed as a custodian for the Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard for many years. He was a member of the Hudson Portuguese Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his 2 sons, Antonio Tavares and Jose Taveres and wife Adelia, all of Hudson; his daughter, Susana DaSilva and husband John of Milford; his sister, Maria Chaves of Hudson and his grandchildren, Tony Jr., Maria, Jullya, Jacob, Lisa, Tiago, Susana, Ariana, Kayla, Kelsey and Jonathan. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 2 grandchildren, Alyssa and Raphael.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 13 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Oct. 12 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
