Obituary

SALEM - Marion C. Kenny, 98, of Salem, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home, Salem, following a short illness.

Born in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of the late Bernard F. & Mary M. (Morrisey) Kenny.

Miss Kenny was a graduate of Salem High School in the class of 1927 and was a Parishioner of the St. Thomas The Apostle Church. A resident of Salem since childhood, she also spent her summers in Ipswich for many years.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed in public accounting for many years as a bookkeeper for Howard Knight, and later for Paul Legro. She previously worked for Thomas Sheehan, publisher of the Horseman’s Journal.

She is survived by one niece, Mary Dieringer of Ellicott, Maryland, one nephew, John F. Gallagher of Austin, Texas and was predeceased by her sister & brother-in-law, Edna & John F. Gallagher, Sr.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated in her memory on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 11 am at the St. Thomas The Apostle Church, North St., Salem, (Route 114 at the Peabody line). Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. For those who desire, donations may be made in her memory to Catholic Charities, 13 Pulaski St., Peabody, MA 01960.
