Obituary

William M. Tombari, MD, of Derry, NH died October 7, 2008 in the Elliott Hospital, Manchester, NH following a brief battle with cancer. He was born July 8, 1949 in Quincy, MA a son of the late Alfred and Carmela (Papile) Tombari. Dr. Tombari was married to Sandra (DeYoung-Kizer) Tombari in 1980.

Dr. Tombari completed his undergraduate education at Boston College and graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1975. After completing his internship and residency in Virginia in 1978, he became partner at Derry Pediatrics and was instrumental in its development. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Parkland Medical Center, a Youth Minister, CCD teacher and Eucharistic Minister at Holy Cross Parish in Derry. He was also a Boy Scout Leader, President of Parkland Health Alliance and Chairman of the 5210 Foundation for Healthy Communities. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of Hoodkroft Country Club. He also enjoyed skiing, swimming, woodworking, youth activities, family, traveling, public service, mentoring and being a good grandpa.

In addition to his wife, Sandra, he is survived by his daughter Melanie M. (Kizer-Tombari) Davis and husband Glenn of Derry, sons James F. Kizer Tombari of Derry and Adam K. Tombari, of Saratoga Springs, NY, and three grandchildren, Zackary, Noah and Emma Davis. He is also survived by his brothers, Alfred Tombari, MD, and his wife Marie of Palm Beach, FL, Raymond Tombari and his wife Carol of Plymouth, MA, Richard Tombari and his wife Linda Farrell, MD of San Francisco, CA, aunts, uncles and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and numerous Godchildren. Dr. Tombari was a beloved member of both the DeYoung and Kizer Families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Karyl.

Visitation was held at Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH on Sunday, October 12, 2008 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. A Catholic Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life was held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, 187 Hampstead Rd., Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Youth Group Activities, 187 Hampstead Rd., Derry, NH 03038.
