Ray G. Thompson, 77, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side.
He was a retired Captain of the City of Louisville Fire Department, worked for Funeral Auto and was a member of the Suburban Lodge #720 F and AM.
He was the beloved husband of Shirley M. (Klaesi) Thompson and beloved father of Jean Cleaver (Gary) and Gail Aubrey (Mark). He had four grandchildren, Stephanie Hall, Shana Greer (Brad), Robert Singleton III and Mark E. Aubrey II; three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Alexis Hall and Conner Greer. He is also survived by his two sisters in California, Wanda Carman and Glaides Gropp; and several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held for the immediate family per his wishes.
He will be missed and remembered as the cornerstone of his family.
