Montgomery `Monte` D. Davie, Sr., 76, Clarksville, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Dr. Kim Allen officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Monte was born February 20, 1932 in Christian County, KY, son of the late Montgomery D. Davie and Josephine Fleming Davie. He was the manager of Frech and Jones Department Store for many years. He was a member of Little West Fork Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ann Davie; sons, Montgomery D. Davie, Jr. (Lu Ellen) and William C. Davie (Fay); a daughter, Jennifer Byrd (Deon); four grandchildren, Callie Ann Davie, Montgomery Davie, III., Rebecca Davie, and Maddie Byrd; and one great-grandchild, Ryder Cook. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Everett and a grandchild, Winston Thomas Davie. Pallbearers will be Eugene Suggs, Hank Fleming, Montgomery Davie, III, Robert Allen, Andy Fleming, Warren N. Everett, Steve Cook, and James Lavery.
