Taunton, Olga Montijo Ortiz, a Taunton resident for over 40 years. Died suddenly Saturday October 4, 2008 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston She was 63 years of age. She was the wife of Felix Melendez She was born in Ponce Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Juan Montijo and Ramono Vega. Mrs. Ortiz was a housewife all of her life. Before moving to Taunton She lived in Puerto Rico. She was a member of St. Mary's Church. She was involved with community service work in the Taunton area She volunteered at St. Vincent's De Paul and the Salvation Army. She enjoyed bingo, dancing, music, cooking, soap operas, traveling, and flea markets. She also cherished the time spent with her family and many friends. In addition to her husband she is survived by seven children Jose Alberto Cintron of attleboro, Lillian Cintron of Attleboro, Jorge Cintron Jr. of NH, Luis A. Cintron of VA, Edward Cintron of New Bedford, Manuel Rios Montijo of PR, and Edwin Rios Monijo of FR She is also survived by four sisters Maria Montijo of PR, Ceclia Monijo of Taunton, Anna Rodriguez of RI, and Milagros Torres of Taunton one brother Luis Monijo of RI she was also the loving grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren she also leaves many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Craop St. (off tremont St.) Wednesday at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church at 11:00am Relatives and friends invited to attend Visiting Hours Tuesday from 5-8pm Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
