Obituary


Mr. George R. Fostin, of North Dighton, died Thursday, October 2 in the Forestview
Nursing Home, Wareham, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Pauline (Forget) Fostin. He was born 76 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late George
and Mary (Mello) Fostin. He was educated in Taunton and had been a North Dighton
resident for the past 48 years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at the Cabral
Farm in North Dighton for 2 years. He had previously owned and operated the Rago
Beef Co. of Dighton for 12 years. He was previously employed as a truck driver for
McCabe Sand and Gravel of Taunton, and formerly owned his own trucking company
for a number of years. Mr. Fostin was also a bus driver for the Bloom Bus Co. of Taun-
ton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Portuguese-American Civic Club and the Atlantic Café Fish Club.
In addition to his wife, he leaves:
1 daughter Cheryl Fostin of No. Dighton
1 stepdaughter: Susan Mastria
1 stepson: Kevin Paiva
5 grandchildren
1 great grandson
several nieces and nephews
Mr. Fostin was also the brother of the late Marilyn Bowen of Swansea.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street,
on Tuesday, October 7 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Nicholas of Myra Church (formerly St. Joseph Church) North Dighton at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to
attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
