Obituary

Scarborough, ME– Marie L. Pothier, 94 died October 2, 2008 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland Maine following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Manchester on September 15, 1914 the daughter of Omer and Victoria ( Melancon) Labrie. She was a long time resident on Manchester until she lived with her daughter in Scarborough, ME for the past 6 years.
She was educated at Ste. Marie’s Holy Angels School. She worked at local shoe shops, Amoskeag Mills and had been a electric welder at the Portsmouth Ship Yard during WWII.
She was a professed Discalced Carmelite Secular for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence M. Pothier on September 30, 2001.
Her family includes one daughter Constance Gelinas of Scarborough, ME., 3 sons Lawrence Pothier of Deerfield, John Pothier of Manchester and James Pothier of Boothbay Harbor, ME., 16 grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren, 8 greatgreatgrandchildren, one sister Jeanne Riel of Manchester, two brothers Aime Labrie and Herve Labrie both of Manchester, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
IN HER LIFE: She was predeceased by 6 brothers, Joseph, Gene, Frank, Albert, Marcel and Conrad all of NH.
SERVICES:Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 AM in Ste. Marie Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers Masses in Marie’s name would be appreciated.
