WORCESTER____Nellie R. (Herman) Adams, 97, formerly of 157 Providence St, died Wednesday Oct. 1, 2008 in Royal Megansett Nursing Home, North Falmouth. Her husband, Anthony “Tony” Adams died in 1990.
She leaves nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Anthony “Buddy” Adams in 1954 and by her four brothers, Joseph, Albert, Edward and John. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Zemaitis) Herman and was raised in South Boston. She returned to Worcester and lived there for many years.
Mrs. Adams worked as a clerk typist in the loan department of Worcester County National Bank which later became Shawmut Bank and then Fleet Bank. She retired many years ago. She was educated in South Boston schools. Nellie was a former member of Our Lady of Vilna Church, was a 40 year member of the Lithuanian Women’s Club and was a member of the AARP.
The funeral will be held on Monday Oct. 6, 2008 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on Monday Oct. 6 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
