Obituary

LOWELL—Robert R. Albanese, 79 years old, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died early Tuesday morning April 8th, at his home. He was the husband of Rita (Phillips) Albanese, with whom he celebrated fifty years of marriage last year.

He was born in Boston, on November 28, 1923, a son of the late Oreste and Angelina (Bruno) Albanese, and was a graduate of Boston Public Schools.

He served in the United States Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart.

Mr. Albanese had been employed as a Machinist by Itek, Dymographics and Photon Corporations, over his thirty year career. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Surviving him besides his wife are his three sons and daughter-in-law: Richard Albanese, of Lowell; Paul and Kathryn Albanese, of Dracut; and Robert Albanese, of Lowell; three grandchildren: Alicia K. Albanese, Matthew R. Albanese and Jonathan R. Albanese; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Rose Falvey, of Walpole; and Eleanor and Paul Galano, of Walpole; also many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Guy Albanese and Frederick Albanese.

Friends may call from 7 until 9 PM on Thursday, April 10th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell, MA. Private committal at the convenience of the family.
