Marie G. “Mary” Albano, age 89, died Sunday evening, September 28, 2008, after a lengthy illness. Born in Cambridge, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Maria (Spinosa) & Giacomo Albano. A resident of Woburn, Mary was formerly of Somerville and Cambridge.
Mary was a quality control inspector for the Hyde Shoe Co. of Cambridge; she retired in 1978 after 35 years. She also worked at the Harvard Coop in Harvard Square for many years. She attended Cambridge public schools and was a member of the Son's of Italy of Cambridge & Woburn. She traveled often and enjoyed a good book, but most of all she loved her family especially her nieces and nephews and their families.
Mary was the loving sister of Anthony Albano of Florida, Polly Caldarone of Burlington, Rocco Albano and Cosmo Albano both of Woburn and the late Salvatore Albano. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great nephews.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Thursday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 7. Services will conclude with burial at St. Bernard Cemetery, Concord.
