Edith L. (Dunnells) Eastman of Andover and beloved wife of Frederick C. Eastman, died at her home on Friday, September 26, 2008. She was 85 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clifford and Mabel (Bailey) Dunnells. Mrs. Eastman was a graduate of Punchard High School in Andover, class of 1941 and also graduated in the first graduating class as a Registered Nursed from the Massachusetts General School of Nursing. She was a retired school nurse and visiting nurse, after many years of service. She was also a member of the Andover Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Mayflower Society. She had been a volunteer at Windrush Farms Therapeutic Riding Program and the American Red Cross.
Besides her beloved husband, Frederick, she will be very sorely missed by three children and their spouses; Carol and her husband James Cottrill of Rumford, Maine, Allen and his wife Phyllis Eastman of Methuen and Malcolm and his wife Andrea Eastman of Methuen, six grandchildren; Catherine Scheld, Kristine Boisvert, Kerri Healy, Katy Eastman, Eric Eastman and Daniel Eastman, ten great-grandchildren; Zachery, Sean and Kayla Healy, Madison Eastman, Kambra Himelrick, Jacob Scheid and Samantha, Victoria, Adam and Amand Eastman.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at 1 PM, at the West Parish Garden Cemetery, 129 Reservation Road, Andover. Calling hours were omitted.
