Vincenza “Vinny” (Novia) Quigley, age 58, of Medford, died Saturday, September 27, 2008, in her home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of William P. Quigley Jr., and the daughter of Serafina (Nuzzo) Novia of Medford, and the late Euplio Novia. Born in Anzano di Puglia, Foggia, Italy, she was raised in East Boston and Medford. A graduate of Fitton High School in East Boston and Salem State College, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education. Mrs. Quigley worked as an office manager, most recently for Traincroft Inc. in Medford. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford and the Madonna Anzano Society.
Besides her husband William of 37 years, and her mother Serafina, she is survived by her two daughters Kim Caserta and her husband Justin of Billerica and Karen Firicano and her husband Sal of Melrose; her son Michael Quigley and his wife Jenny of Stoneham; grandchildren, Kaleigh and John Casserta, Jack Firicano and Michael Quigley Jr.; two brothers Rocco Novia and his wife Lynne of Winthrop & Patrick P. Novia and his wife Christine of Houston, TX; and her mother and father in law William P. and Alice (Kinsella) Quigley Sr. of Medford.
Her funeral will be held from the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden, (at the Medford line) on Wednesday, October 1st, at 8AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Medford at 9:00 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives & friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM.
