
CHELMSFORD—Dorothy E. (Bowers) Polak, 83 years old, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, formerly of Lowell, died Monday evening, September 22nd, at D’Youville Senior Care. She was the beloved wife of Attorney Stanley J. Polak, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage in December of 2007.
She was born in Lowell, on June 2, 1925, a daughter of the late John and Bella (Lantagne) Bowers, and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Upon graduation, she was employed as a Stewardess.
Mrs. Polak was an active member of the Lowell Garden Club and an avid golfer at Vesper Country Club. She also volunteered her time as a driver for cancer patients.
Surviving her besides her husband are a daughter and son-in-law: Kim and German Guerrero, of New York, NY; three grandchildren: Nicolas, David, and Sylvia Guerrero, all of NY; a sister: Virginia Britton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Jack Bowers.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM TODAY, September 24th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Thursday morning, September 25th at 9:30 AM at ST. MARGARET’S CHURCH. Burial in the Holy Trinity Polish Cemetery.
