Obituary

LOWELL—Rosemary (Turner) Marshall, 76 years old, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died Saturday morning April 5th, at her home.

She was born in Lowell, on March 26, 1927, a daughter of the late Herbert and Julia (Kealey) Turner, and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Grammar School and St. Patrick’s High School, where she would have celebrated her 60th reunion next year.

Mrs. Marshall was raised in the Acre section of Lowell and as a young woman worked as a seamstress in the Lowell Mills making parachutes for the soldiers during World War II. Later in life she was employed as a hairdresser at several local beauty shops. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Surviving her are a son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Deborah Marshall, of Dracut; a daughter and son-in-law: Ruth and Thomas Fields, of Lowell; six grandchildren: Brian Polizzotti, Kaitlin Marshall, Ethan Marshall, Christine Fields, Lauren Marshall and Kyle Marshall; also one great granddaughter: Giovanna Polizzotti; also many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late John Marshall and sister of the late John Turner and Herbert Turner.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, April 8th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Wednesday morning, April 9th, at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell. Burial in the Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the VNA Greater Lowell; P.O. Box 1965; Lowell, MA 01853.
