Janet R. (O’Donnell) Coyne, 64, of Westport passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of James W. Coyne, Jr.
Born in Fall River, she was daughter of the late James F. and Ruth J. (Pariseau) O’Donnell. In 1980 she founded Coyne Insurance Agency in Westport, where she served the area for many years. Mrs. Coyne was a Communicant of Holy Name Church, Fall River and Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. She was a member of the Westport Business to Business and the Fall River Insurance Agents Association. An avid sky diver, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Including her husband, survivors include a son: Derek J. and Sabine Coyne of N. Attleboro; 4 daughters: Laurie A. and Jeff Fernandes of Westport, Stacy L. Leger and Jim Gomes of Tiverton, RI, Alicia M. and John Medeiros of Portsmouth, RI and Betheny A. and David Borges of Westport; a sister: Joyce Pinto of New Bedford; 11 grandchildren: Michael, Lindsey, Tanner and Nicholas Fernandes, Ciara and Halle Coyne, Landon Leger, Dylan and Lucas Medeiros and Matthew and Ryan Borges; mother-in-law: Honora Coyne of Fall River; sister-in-law: Nona Coyne of Fall River; and a nephew: Scott Pinto.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, September 26, 2008 from the Potter Funeral Home at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church, Fall River at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday 4 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
