Obituary

Constance Marie Krenkel, 82, of Keach Dam Road, died Sunday, September 21, at Bayberry Commons. Formerly of South Huntington, NY and Warwick, RI, she moved to Chepachet in 2004.
She worked as an office manager for the Dix Hills, NY School Department from 1964 retiring in 1987. She was an excellent typist and typed many of her husband’s detailed aeronautical engineering reports that were published in MIT journals. A girl scout leader, church choir member and seamstress, she also enjoyed needlepoint, crochet, photography and stained glass. She loved reading detective novels and belonged to the “Busy Hands” women’s group at the Shawomet Baptist Church in Warwick..
She was preceded in death by her husband, August R. Krenkel; her parents Oscar and Viola (Heckman) Marheineke and her sister, Jane Gaertner. Surviving are her two daughters, Linda (Charles) Dubois of Chepachet, Deborah (William) Verrier of Warwick and her son David (Lynn) Krenkel of Mt. Joy, PA; her grandchildren, Kristin and Jessica Ahearn, Katie, Laura and Annie Dubois, John Krenkel and Justin Verrier and a great granddaughter, Haley Lennon.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 10am in Shawomet Baptist Church, 1642 West Shore Road, Warwick, RI 02889. Friends may call Wednesday 4-7 pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Shawomet Baptist Church or VNS Hospice, 6 Blackstone Valley Place, Lincoln, RI 02865.
