Obituary

William Joseph Donovan, 88 years of Wareham died unexpectedly Friday September 19, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. He was the loving husband of Claire E. (Crosier) Donovan. He was born in Dorchester, a son of the late Arthur and Mary (Fallon) Donovan and for the past seven years he had been a resident of Wareham. During WW II he served in the US Army with 3rd General Hospital in the African and European Theatre.
Before his retirement he had been employed for 32 years for the City of Quincy Highway Dept. He was a member and past commander of VFW, Merritt Island, Florida He enjoyed bowling and loved reading and raising roses. He was also an avid Boston Sports enthusiast.

In addition to his wife he is survived by six children, David Norcross and Thomas Norcross both of Wareham; Pamela Newcomb of Plymouth; Alan Magnus of Marston Mills; Kathleen Norcross of FL; Walita Crawford (formerly Sister Mary Claire, Sisters of the Poor) of Springfield and the late Linda Norcross and Florence Norcross. Also survived by fourteen grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at Knollwood Memorial Park, 321 High Street, Canton Tuesday at 11:30am. followed by burial with military honors. Visiting hours Monday 5-8pm in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, MA 02301.
