Dorothy “Dottie” McIntyre, 63, of Fitzgerald died Thursday, September 18, 2008, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Goodlett and Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. McIntyre was born August 13, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Dorothy Strandberg Butler and the late Samuel B. Butler, Jr. She graduated from Seabreeze High School in Ormond Beach, FL in 1963. She attended Florida Southern College and was a graduate of Florida State University. She was a former teacher at Fitzgerald Elementary School and First Baptist Church Pre-school. She was co-owner and operator of Mallard Point Golf Club. Mrs. McIntyre was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Steve McIntyre, Jr. of Fitzgerald; son, Chris McIntyre of Fitzgerald, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Drs. Leah & Hank Cook of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Anna and Samuel Cook of Fitzgerald; mother, Dorothy S. Butler of Ormond Beach, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel B. and Betty Butler, III of Orlando, FL and Charles H. and Lynn Butler of Eatonville, WA; mother-in-law, Audie McIntyre of Fitzgerald; sister-in-law, Barbara Cagle of Fitzgerald. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, G.S. McIntyre and brother-in-law, Cliff Cagle.
