Obituary

WORCESTER-Sarah “Dato” L. Kings, 74, of 16 Laurel Street died April 4th in Radius Healthcare Center at Worcester after a long illness. She leaves 2 daughters, Felicia and Litha Kings both of Worcester; a brother, Arthur husband of Roslyn Daniels of Sparta, GA; 2 sisters, Annie E. wife of Robert Caldwell of Worcester and Amie D. wife of Andrew Williams of Elkton, FL; 5 grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; 2 sister-in-laws, Kathleen wife of Sherman Napier and Yvonne Otoo both of Worcester; many friends. 2 brothers, Saul and Willie Daniels and a sister, Rosa Thompson predeceased her.

She was born in Hastings, FL daughter of Will and Hattie M. (Thomas) Daniels. She graduated from Hastings Vocational Training High School in 1947 and graduated from Boces Trade School in Hempstead Long Island, New York. Mrs. Kings worked as a presser for White Cleaners in Worcester for many years, from where she retired. Previously she worked as a punch operator in New York for several years. She was an active member of Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed cake decorating, crafts and sewing.

The funeral will be Wednesday, April 9th at 11:30 AM at Second Baptist Church, 14 Hammond Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM in the church the morning of the funeral. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church, 14 Hammond Street, Worcester, Massachusetts, 01610 or American Cancer Society, New England Division, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, Massachusetts, 01701. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue is directing the arrangements.
