Benito “Vittorio” Villano, age 78 of Medford died suddenly on Monday while tending to his garden. He is the husband of Raffaela (D’Ambrosio) Villano with whom he shared more than 39 years of marriage.
Born and educated in Pietradefusi, Avellino Italy, son of the late Raffaele and Giuseppa (Ciarcia) Villano. He emigrated to the United states in 1971 and settled in Medford. A construction worker by trade, he loved working in his garden. He was known as an animal lover and also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Anna Lisa Villano of Medford, Carmela Villano and Giuliana Villano of Italy. Loving grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Brother of Antonetta Mozzarella of PA, Maria Villano of Italy, Elvira Villano of Italy and the late Antonio Villano. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. His funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Friday at 10:00 am. Services will conclude with burial Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
