Obituary

Rita Ann ( Kelleher ) Klim, a lifelong resident of Stoughton passed away at home after a brief illness on Sunday September 14, 2008. She was 86 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony M. “ Tony “ Klim who passed away in March, 2008.

Born December 26, 1921 in Stoughton, MA, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Gertrude ( Willis ) Kelleher. She attended Stoughton Public Schools.

Mrs. Klim is survived by her children; Martin and his wife Paula of Winthrop, MA; Karen and her late husband Paul Angell Sr. of Taylor’s, South Carolina; Kevin of Stoughton, MA; Brian and his wife Anne also of Stoughton, MA; Christopher of Plymouth, MA; Mary Sandoval of Cumberland, Rhode Island; Monica and her husband Daniel Kerman of Atkinson, New Hampshire and Colleen and her husband Mark Jordan of Berkley, MA. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 7 great – grandchildren, her two sisters, Marie Winchester of Kingston, MA, Margaret Sheehan of Canton, MA, her two brothers, Donald Kelleher of Canton, MA, Richard Kelleher of Oceanside, California and several nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Frederick Kelleher.

Rita was devoted to her family , especially her many grandchildren and great – grandchildren. Rita was an employee of the Stoughton Public School System retiring as an Administrative Assistant within the Superintendent’s Office. She also worked as a Receptionist at the former Goddard Memorial Hospital in Stoughton. She was a communicant of The Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis through the Chapel of Our Savior. Rita enjoyed music and playing the organ. She also spent many summers on Peter’s Pond in Sandwich, MA and winters in Venice, Florida.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday September 18, 2008 at 9:00 A.M. from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton . Followed by a mass of Christian burial for the repose of her soul at 10:30 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, ( Rt. 27 ) , Stoughton. Burial will follow at The Massachusetts Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 1:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thoracic Oncology Research Fund, C/O Daniel Costa M.D. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, 330 Brookline Ave. Boston, MA 02215 in Rita’s memory would be appreciated.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday September 17, 2008 from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
