Carol A. (Mongeon) OBREITER, of Plainfield Pike, Johnston ended her enduring fight to survive on her cancer journey on September 11, 2008 at the Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. Her courage and determination was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was the beloved wife of Charles A. Obreiter, Sr. to whom she was married 22 years.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of Anne B. (Murray) Mongeon of Scituate and the late Gilbert Mongeon, she lived in Scituate for most of her life, moving to Johnston in 1986. She was the office manager, financial manager and inspiration for the law firm of Gelfuso & Lachut, Inc., for 30 years until her illness forced her to retire. She loved life, her family and her many friends and will be missed by so many.
Besides her devoted husband and loving mother, she is survived by her beloved children, Katherine A. Jaswell of Johnston, Charles A. Obreiter, Jr. of Coventry and Randy A. Obreiter of Johnston as well as three grandchildren, Savannah, Andrew and Amanda Obreiter. She also leaves her sister and best friend, Donna C. Colwell and her husband Steven and two nephews, Daniel and Nathan Colwell of Greenville.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 11:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 12noon in St. Joseph Church, Danielson Pike, North Scituate. Visitation Tuesday morning 9-11:30am.
