Diane J. (Leger) Vail 60, of Plainville, and a former Franklin resident, died Wednesday September 10, 2008 at home, following a long illness. She was the wife of James T. Vail Jr. for 39 years.
Born in Fox Creek, New Brunswick, Canada April 21, 1948 a daughter of Aurore (LeBlanc) Leger of Canada, and the late Irois Leger, she was raised and educated in Canada and came to the United States as a young adult, first settling in Waltham. She then moved to Franklin where she lived for many years until moving to Plainville two years ago.
Until illness forced her to stop working, Mrs. Vail had been employed as a day care worker for Solutions in Franklin. She previously worked for many years at the Davis Thayer School in the cafeteria.
She enjoyed spending time at home with family and friends and cruising with her husband. They visited all of the Caribbean Islands.
She was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Franklin.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother is a son Mark T. Vail of Brookline, a daughter Suzanne K. Vail of Plainville, three brothers Romeo, Victor and Leo-Paul Leger, all in Canada, four sisters Cecile Godin, Jacqueline Bauer, Jeanne Cormier all in Canada and Angela Richard of Hudson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday September 15, 2008 at 9:15am from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) Franklin, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM. Interment will be private.
