Helen M. (Kelleher) O’Brien, 84 years of East Bridgewater died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Kindred Hospital, Stoughton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of James E. O’Brien for 46 years. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Gerald J. and M. Gladys (Haslam) Kelleher. She worked for Metropolitan Insurance Company for 40 years in Brockton, Taunton and Norwood. She enjoyed working with her hands and created stained glass, pottery and porcelain dolls.
She is survived by her nephews, Michael Kelleher and John Kelleher of Brockton, Mark Kelleher of Taunton and Harold Kelleher of Norton, her nieces Janet Riley of Brockton, Judith Kelleher of Sandwich, Jo-Ann Whiting of Maine, Patricia Clarkson of West Bridgewater, Nancy Brooks of Hanover, Maureen Pratt of E. Bridgewater, Linda Meade of Attleboro and Kathy Viola of Sandwich, also many grand nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Gerald and Harold Kelleher of Brockton and William Kelleher of E. Bridgewater.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 3-7pm. Donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.
