Obituary

Halifax-Rudolph J. “Rudy” Koeppel 73 died in his Halifax home on Sunday Sept. 7th. He was the beloved husband of Norma (George) Koeppel.

Born and raised in Holbrook he was the son of the late Rudolph and Eleanor (Levering) Koeppel. He attended Holbrook schools and Quincy Trade School.

He worked for most of his life as an automotive painter and most recently for Champion Motors of Brockton. He enjoyed as his hobby and was a master at restoring cars.

Rudy was a resident of Halifax for more than forty years and also a forty year member of the Halifax Congregational Church.

He loved spending time with his family, including his six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his daughters, Nancy Butters and her husband Richard of Middleboro, and Ruth McGovern and her husband Frederick of Halifax, his brother Robert Koeppel of Holbrook, his sister Sue Place of Brockton, as well as six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Norie Cole and brother of the late Ruth Burke, and Millie and Virginia Koeppel.

His services will be held Thursday Sept. 11th at 1 PM in the Halifax Congregational Church, 503 Plymouth St. Halifax. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, Halifax. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday Sept. 10th from 5-8 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Donations in his name may be made to the Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way Randolph, MA 02368.
