Elsie Walker Taylor, 94, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Monday, September 8, 2008 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, September 11 at New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Wilson, Rev. J.K. Mobley and Rev. Bob Chaudoin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Taylor was born January 28, 1914 in Ben Hill County to the late Archie and Emma Dixon Walker. She lived in the community all of her life and was a former employee of H.R. Kaminsky & Sons, Fitzgerald Underwear, Irwin Manufacturing, Modern Fibers and a greeter at Wal-Mart. Mrs. Taylor was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, where she helped with Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, W.L. & Jacqueline Taylor of Abbeville; daughter, Audrey J. Taylor of Perry; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey J. Taylor and a son, Harris Taylor.
