Edna (Fernald) Porter a longtime resident of Newtonville died on Wednesday September 3rd at Massachusetts general Hospital in Boston. She was 90 years old. Born in Chelsea, Edna was the daughter of the late Roy F. and Gertrude 9Graham) Fernald. A graduate of Newton High School, Edna had lived in Newton for most of her life and the last 37 years were in Newtonville. She was a member of the Eliot Church in Newton Corner. The beloved wife of the late Ralph W. Porter Jr, she was the loving mother of Roy F. Porter and his wife Paula of Sudbury, David W. Porter and his wife Janice of Newton Upper Falls, Douglas R. Porter and his wife Doreen of Bellingham and Mark E. Porter of Newtonville. Also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services and interment will be private.
