Worcester- Annie J. Pucilauskas, 90, formerly of Blithewood Avenue, died Monday, March 31, in Blaire House of Worcester.
She leaves four nieces, Joann Cope of Torrance, California, Dolores Rommel of Santa Valera, California, Amelia Koziak of Cherry Valley, and Susan Rivers of Spencer. Three brothers, John A. Pucilauskas, Joseph C. Pucilauskas, and Ladio R. Polleski, predeceased her. A nephew, John Pucilauskas, also predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph J. and Julia M. (Zinkevich) Pucilauskas, and lived here all her life.
She graduated from the former High School of Commerce. She was also a graduate of Westfield State College, and later received a degree, with honors, from Worcester State College.
Miss Pucilauskas was a school teacher for more than 30 years, retiring in 1978.
She was a longtime member of St. Casimir Catholic Parish, and sang in its choir. She was a member of the Education Association of Worcester, the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the National Education Association, the Lithuanian Social Club, and was a member and past president of the Lithuanian American Roman Catholic Womens Alliance, Chapter 5, Sajunga. She was an honorary member of the Maironis Park Lithuanian Womens Club.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, crafting, and painting.
The funeral will be held Thursday, April 3, from Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church, 41 Providence Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A calling period will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday, April 3, in the funeral home.
