MARJORIE E. (YORK) PARKER, 78, a Hingham resident for over 50 years, died on Monday, Sept. 1st, 2008 at the Colonial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth. Mrs. Parker was born in Waverly, MA and spent her early life in Watertown. She was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed bingo, crocheting and knitting.
She was the wife of the late Robert L. Parker, Sr. and mother of; Robert L. Parker, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth and Denise E. Barbuto and her husband Daniel all of Hingham, Diane R. Downes and her husband Brendan of Broken Arrow, OK, Debra A. Russell and her husband Denis of Woburn, Gregg R. Parker and his wife Dina of Sandown, NH, Steven C. Parker and his wife Nancy of Pembroke and Jeffrey A. Parker and his wife Tiffany of Cohasset. Sister of Lois Smith of Waltham, Dorothy Hansen of Sudbury, Judy Waters of Georgia, Jack York of Kittery, ME, the late Richard York and the late Phyllis York. Also survived by her companion, James Greelish of Quincy, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 6th at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, 85 Main St., Hingham. Friends are welcome to attend memorial Visiting hours at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Friday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 720 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02118-2371.
