Robert A. Pierce, 54, of Mansfield died on Wednesday September 3, 2008 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA
Born in Groton, MA on October 15, 1953 he was a loving son of Nancy B. (Ryan) Pierce of Mansfield and the late Robert H. Pierce.
A 1972 graduate of Mansfield High School Bob had worked in the shipping department at the Ames Corporation in Mansfield for 30 years prior to retiring in 2003. When he started his career the company was originally named Zayer’s
Bob was a member of the First Christian Church in West Mansfield and had made his home in Mansfield for the past 41 years. He enjoyed watching sports teams of New England very much.
In addition to his loving mother he was the devoted brother of Charles E. Pierce of Lakewood, California, Lauri B. Baptiste of Attleboro, Jonathan W. Pierce of Mansfield, Kristina K. Bizier of Attleboro and Benjamin R. Pierce of Los Angeles, California. Also surviving are 8 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday September 8th at 10:00 A.M. in the First Christian Church 13 Otis Street West Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday September 7th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers Robert’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Hospital 44 Binney Street Boston, MA 02115.
