Charles A. Estaphan, 94, life-long Worcester resident, died Saturday, August 30, 2008, in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. He leaves three sons, Thomas Estaphan of Shrewsbury, Stephen Estaphan of Douglas, and Chuck Estaphan of Shrewsbury; two brothers, George Estaphan of Worcester and Mitchell Estaphan of Shrewsbury; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters, Rose, Sadie, and Emily. He was born in Worcester, son of Addle (Salman) and Isar Estaphan. He was a graduate of Commerce High School and was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran. He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years, retiring in 1977. He served as former president of the Postal Credit Union and the Postal Clerks Union.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Parish, 18 Summer Street, Shrewsbury, Thursday, Sept. 4, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, prior to the funeral from 9-10 a.m. Please omit flowers.
