Patricia M. Olesen, 87, of Derry, NH died Sunday August 31, 2008 at her home following a brief illness. Mrs. Olesen was born in Malden, MA on July 1, 1921 a daughter of the late John E. and Margaret M. (Lewis) Martin, Sr. She had resided in E. Derry for more than 50 years, formerly living in Wakefield, MA. She was a 1939 graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry. Mrs. Olesen retired in 1989 after working as a legal secretary for Attorney George Grinnell in Derry for more than 35 years. She was a member of the First Parish Church of E. Derry and also a member of the E. Derry Improvement Society where she served as past secretary.
She is survived by her son, William M. Olesen and his wife Rita of Derry, two daughters, Margaret L. Moser and her husband Reed of Derry, Judith A. Foley and her husband Donald of Derry, five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William F. Olesen in 1991 and by her brother, John E. “Jack” Martin, Jr. in 2006.
A calling hour was held on Thursday September 4, 2008 from 9:00 to 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services followed at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
