Mary M. (Cronin) Kelley, a 62 year resident of Melrose, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital following a short illness. She was 93 years old.
Mary was born in Windham, NH, on August 20, 1915. She grew up in Windham, NH, where she attended Windham Public Schools and graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1930. She furthered her education at McIntosh Business School. Mary has been a homemaker most of her life while taking care of her husband, 3 daughters and grandchildren. Mary was an active member and participant along with her husband at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield.
Mary is the beloved wife of 62 years to retired Melrose Fire Captain Joseph M. Kelley. She is the devoted mother of Kathleen T. St. Germain of Reading, Marilyn Burt and her husband James of Whitefield, NH, and Irene M. Kelley of Melrose. She is the loving grandmother of Kerry A. St. Germain, Jennifer, Katherine, Michael and Matthew Burt. Mary is predeceased by her 10 older brothers and sisters. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mary's Funeral will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008, at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose, followed by her Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main Street, Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, August 28, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
