Mrs. Frances A. (Wojnar) James, 81, a resident of Andover, Massachusetts and Hampton, New Hampshire, passed away on Sunday, August 24th, 2008 at The Meadows of Edgewood in North Andover, MA.
Frances was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts to the late Mr. Frank and Catherine (Gonet) Wojnar. She was educated in St. Rita's Grammar School, Lawrence High School and Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts.
She taught Nursing in the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing. Fran was a member of the Abenaqui Country Club, Andover Garden Club, Ladies of Merrimack in North Andover and she was on the Scholarship Board at Northern Essex Community College.
Frances enjoyed Summers in Hampton, New Hampshire, was an avid and great Tennis Player at Abenaqui Country Club; she was Club Champion and won numerous trophies. Frances loved to play Bridge and have gatherings with close friends.
Wife of the late: Mr. John A. James, a prominent local businessman, who passed in October of 1985. Her Long-time beloved companion for some 20 years: Mr. Paul W. Collins; Frances was his "Lady Friend". Brother: Henry Wojnar and his wife Mildred of Sandwich, Mass.
Sisters: her twin: Ann Folzenlogen of Dallas, TX and Mary Barry of Andover, MA. Son: Stephen A. and his wife Laura E. James of Sunapee, NH. Grandchildren: John James of New York
Ben James and Alex James of North Andover, MA "Tink" and Taylor James of Sunapee, NH
Other Family members: Chris Lennon and Barbara Lennon of North Andover, MA. Son: John A. James and his wife Jamie and their children of Andover, MA.
As well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August, 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Augustine's Church in Andover, MA.
Burial will follow at the Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover, MA.
