MYSTIC: Eunice Rider Novak, 90, of Pendleton Healthcare and past resident of Edyth Richmond Senior Housing died Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London CT. Eunice was born in Centerville, RI on January 18, 1918 to the late Eunice Rider, Sr. She married Leonard J. Novak, Sr. on July 5, 1938 in Fall River, MA. Mr. Novak died Aug. 30, 1986. She was employed in her younger years at Rossi Velvet Mill, Puritan Laundry and McDonald’s Restaurant in Mystic. Eunice was a longtime resident of Mystic, CT and a lifetime member of the Pawcatuck VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Mystic Golden Agers. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her son Leonard Novak Jr. and his wife Sarah of Stonington and her daughter Allison Moss of Oakdale. She is also survived by grandchildren Leonard, Dean Corey, Daniel and Johnathan Novak and Phillip and Lee Moss, as well as 9 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Eunice is predeceased by her son Daniel Novak, brother, Thurston Rider and sister Madeline Martino.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 27 at 11:00am at St. Patrick Cemetery, River Road, Old Mystic. There are no visiting hours.
