Obituary

Louis L. Ullman, 84, of Enigma, died Sunday, August 24, 2008, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in the Fitzgerald Hebrew Congregation Cemetery with Rabbi Richard Baroff officiating.

Mr. Ullman was born July 18, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Honorable David L. and Gertrude Engel Ullman. He graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia, PA and was a former resident of Littleton, Colorado, where he worked for Martin Marietta on the space shuttle. Mr. Ullman was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and did graduate studies at the University of Chicago, Pennsylvania State University and Illinois Institute of Technology. He served as Lt. J.G. in the U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II. Mr. Ullman was a member of the Fitzgerald Hebrew Congregation. He was Past President of the Society of Technical Writers & Publishers, member of the Enigma Men’s & Ladies’ Club, the Golden Age Club, AARP Chapter 4730 and the Tifton Police Academy.

Mr. Ullman is survived by his wife, Ruhana R. “Ruby” Ullman of Enigma; sons, David L. Ullman of Denver, CO, Michael I. Ullman of Seattle, WA and Joseph S. Ullman of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Arroxane T. Ullman and fiancée, Michael D. Down of Dallas, TX, David L. (Yumiko) Ullman, III of Seattle, WA and Daniel I. Morgan of Seattle, WA; great grandchild, Louis R. Ullman of Seattle, WA; sister, Jacqueline Kendall of Newtown, PA as well as several nieces and nephews.
