Obituary

Herbert Kinnett, Jr., 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Fitzgerald Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, August 25, 2008, at Eastside Holiness Baptist Church with the Rev. Edsel Young and the Rev. Olin Greer officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Kinnett was born December 29, 1928 in Telfair County to the late Herbert and Irene Grimes Kinnett. Living most of his life in Telfair and Ben Hill Counties. Mr. Kinnett was a truck driver for 50 years for Brown Transport and Harper Motor, a Container Hauler for the Port of Savannah, and was a former employee of Fitzgerald Ford and Frank Barrentine. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Kinnett was a member of Eastside Holiness Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Doris S. Kinnett of Fitzgerald; 2 Sons: James H. (Sheila) Kinnett of Broxton, GA and Jimmy (Diane) Kinnett of Leesburg, GA; 4 Grandchildren: Ashley (Melissa) Kinnett, Kayla (Brent) Luckie, Jordan Kinnett and Jaimee Kinnett; Great-Grandchild, Kaitlyn Luckie and 5 Sisters: Shirley Kinnett, Moultrie, GA, Lola Spell, Pridgen, GA, Berma Jean Harrell, Jacksonville, GA, Christine Hester, Ocilla, GA and Annie Ruth Barrentine, Sterling, GA., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
