Mary D. Ottariano, 87, of Derry, NH, died Thursday, August 14, 2008 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry. Mrs. Ottariano was born in Boston, MA on October 29, 1920, daughter of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Diforti) Violetto. She grew up in East Boston and graduated from E. Boston High School. Mrs. Ottariano worked in sales for Longs Jewelry in Boston, Tupperware in Everett, MA and Howard’s Clothing in Boston. She was a member of Star of the Sea Parish in E. Boston. She was also a mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking.
She is survived by a son, Steven G. Ottariano and his wife Anne of Londonderry, NH, two grandchildren, Stephanie Monson and her husband Thomas of Manchester, NH, Jason Ottariano of Phoenix, AZ and by nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Ottariano in 1990 and by her brother, Joseph Violetto.
Visiting hours were held 4-8pm Monday, August 18, 2008 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 10:30am Tuesday in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial was held 11:00am Wednesday in St. Michael's Cemetery, Boston, MA.
