Obituary

FRANKLIN: Donald T. Anderson 81 of 10 Farrington St., died Tuesday August 12, 2008 at Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation Center in Milford, following a long illness.

Born in Franklin, August 17, 1926 a son of the late John A. and Emma D. (Bergquist) Anderson, he was a lifelong town resident. He was educated in local schools and was a 1944 graduate of Franklin High School.

Until his retirement in 1985, he worked for more than 30 years for the former Kendall Mills Co. in Walpole.

He served in the US Navy during WW II. He attained the rank of Seaman first class and was awarded the American Area Medal, The Asiatic-Pacific Area Medal, The WW II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in July 1946.

Mr. Anderson was a lifetime member of the Franklin United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, and the AARP. He also enjoyed travel.

He is survived by a brother: Marsden R. “Skip” Anderson of Franklin, a sister Martha A. Bell of Hopedale, and many generational nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late: John W., Daniel, and Ester E. Anderson, Dorothy Jillson, Leona Silvi, Pauline Feccia, and Elizabeth Tarallo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral with military honors Saturday at 11AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Interment will follow in Union St. Cemetery.

Calling hours are Friday 4-8 PM.
