Gregory S. Faraglia, 81, of New Bedford died Tuesday August 12, 2008 at New Bedford Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Alice C. (Foley) Faraglia.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Alfredo and Ida (Novelli) Faraglia, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, where he was a collector for 45 years.
Mr. Faraglia was formerly employed as a machinist at Continental Screw Company until his retirement.
Survivors include two children, Gregory S. Faraglia, Jr. and his wife Julie of Williamsburg, VA and Susan M. Stewart and her husband James of New Bedford; a sister, Eleanor Correia of Fairhaven; three grandchildren, Heather Pierce, Adam Stewart, and James Stewart, Jr.; and a great-grandson, Michael Pierce.
He was the brother of the late Luke Faraglia and Mary Souza.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
