Obituary

Geoffrey “Geoff” G. Flibotte, 24, of Londonderry, NH passed away on August 9, 2008 at home with his family by his side. He leaves his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Henry and Elizabeth (Robertson) Roux, Sr. of Londonderry and Mr. & Mrs. George and Laura Flibotte of Methuen, MA and his brother, Josh Flibotte of Londonderry.
Born in Derry, NH on August 20, 1983. He grew up in Derry and Londonderry. He attended Londonderry High School, class of 2001. He worked at Tallarico car dealership in Manchester, NH, where he achieved many awards for top sales of the month. He also worked at Pep Boys in Manchester. Before his illness he was working for a landscaping company in Londonderry.
Geoff loved working on motorcycles and cars. In his teen years, there was usually a junk car in the driveway that he was working on. He was always able to fix what he took apart. He was always helping out his friends with their mechanical needs. He also loved working with and on computers. He enjoyed movies and music and had an extensive collection. For those who knew him well, he loved “Superman Movies.” Geoff loved to write poems. He was presented several awards for his unique writing style in poetry. Geoff also enjoyed watching the New England Patriots. He loved to entertain his friends at his apartment. Geoff was a true and loyal friend to those who were privileged enough to call him their friend. Geoff fought a 13 month battle with a rare and tough cancer. He was courageous and strong and gave his best to “Livestrong.”
Besides his parents and brother, he leaves his maternal grandmother, Mrs. C.L. Robertson of Londonderry, his uncles, Mr. & Mrs. David Robertson of Boston, MA, Mr.& Mrs. James Robertson and family of Dover, NH and Mr. & Mrs. William Robertson of Bedford, NH. His paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Richard Flibotte, Sr. of Derry. Geoff also leaves four stepbrothers, a stepsister, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his best friend, Derek Pierce of Derry. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Carl L. Robertson in 1989.
Visiting hours were held Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 4-8pm in the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held 10:30am Thursday in the funeral home. Private burial was in the Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to TD Banknorth, P.O. Box 1179, Derry, NH 03038.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Suzanne George and Dr. James Butrynski at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Along with their teams, nursing staff and patient care associates at the Dana Farber and Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Also, the staff and doctors at NH Oncology, Hooksett, NH and the doctors and nursing staff at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Thank you to the Manchester Visiting Nurse Association nursing staff.
